I photograph a lot of corporate headshots and environmental portraits for accounting firms, law firms, advertising agencies and other companies. Sometimes incorporating a relevant background can help convey who they are and what they do. For instance, I like to photograph the agents of a large real estate client on the NYC streets they represent, and I often shoot environmental portraits of CEOs in their offices or with a swath of company activity taking place behind them. At other times my corporate clients — especially when they’re adding new employees to their rosters — prefer a subtle backdrop that suggests uniformity of service while still highlighting each person’s individuality. I photographed these headshots on location at a law firm, achieving a consistent look with a plain backdrop and careful lighting.
